My Traveling Diaries | Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Rain began to trickle down as our taxi driver drove us into the city from the seaport. Palma is the capital of this small Spanish island. The paved streets have narrow streets and alleyways tucked away with boutiques and restaurants. We decided to visit the Santa Maria Cathedral that sat port side a long the ocean.

We decided to start at the Mallorca Cathedral, more commonly known as La Seu. Construction on it began around the 1300s and additions have been made year after year. Antoni Gaudi even traveled to the cathedral to share ideas and designs for the natural lighting and completion of the canopy. This cathedral is the perfect example of the evolving history of Mallorca. The inside of the cathedral has many different chapels and sections and it is absolutely gorgeous.

Once we left the cathedral the clouds broke and sunshine began to peak through. We up and down the streets of the city passing by souvenir shops and hole-in-the-wall restaurants. We've already seen a lot on this trip and were only a few days into our journey. It was great to be able to just walk alongside Seth holding hands and talking about all sorts of things like religion, traveling, cultures and life. We still have so many places to go, so we were excited to jump back on the ship, because the next day we would arrive in Italy!
