My Wedding | Honeymoon P1 | Cruising The Sea

Seth tried so hard keeping it a surprise for me, but he blurted out one day that we were headed on a Eastern Caribbean cruise for our honeymoon! I had never been on a cruise before! He explained to me that we would spend 7 days out on the Allure of the Seas, one of the biggest cruise ships of Royal Caribbean. We would visit St. Maarten, Puerto Rico and Haiti!

In preparation for the cruise, I did some research on different ideas of things to bring and what to expect! I compiled my own Cruise Packing List and packed separately the night before the wedding. After an amazing wedding night, we drove the next day to Denver to fly out to Miami, Florida!

I still remember driving up to the port. You reach the most gigantic, beautiful ship you've ever seen. We drop off our suitcases to have it picked up to be sent to our cabin and get checked in. We pass along with hundreds of people, filing in to the ship with workers there to greet you every step of the way. When we crossed the bridge to get onto the ship I felt like I was boarding the Titanic, in the way that's anxious and excited to be traveling across the sea to new land. We found our room with an amazing view of the ocean! We immediately went and explored the ship. There were cafes, casinos, restaurants and bars. There was a basketball court, mini golf, ping pong tables, zip line, swimming pools and a flow rider! Each night they had different entertainment with divers and acrobats, comedy shows, musicals and concerts!

One morning, I requested breakfast in bed and the food was delicious! All you had to do was write down what you wanted and leave it out the night before. The food prepared on the ship was so yummy and unique that it made the whole experience come together. Chefs from all over would take over for a night and you could experience cuisine from around the world. The cruise implemented certain nights to be "formal nights" where everyone gets dolled up in fancy dresses and suits and heads to dinner. Eating out became so much more meaningful!

I've always been in love with water and the ocean. I loved sitting inside my cabin window at night and watched dark waves crash into the side of the ship while sea foam bubbles up through each wave. If you haven't gone on a cruise yet, I'd suggest you start planning one now, it's an incredible experience! Everything is taken care of for you and all you have to worry about is having fun. Cruising is a crazy way to travel. I didn't take as many pictures as I would've liked, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes you should just live in the moment and enjoy the here and now. We met so many people from all over the world and they became our cruise buddies. We'd either run into each other at dinner or meet every day on the Flow Rider. It's amazing to be on such a beautiful big ship and enjoy the best that the sea has to offer!

Love, Nick
