My Wedding | Honeymoon P2 | St. Maarten, Puerto Rico & Haiti
My favorite season is summer, so heading to the Caribbean was an exciting part of the honeymoon! Our first stop was St. Maarten. To be honest, I'd never even heard of it, but this was my favorite place that we stopped at! Everyone was kind, hilarious and welcoming. There was a carefree atmosphere around everyone. We stopped by different stores and shops selling cuban cigars, sunglasses and dresses. We had delicious nachos as a snack and cold drinks to cool off with. We met up with our friend and swam around in the ocean. We took some photos and played around with the go pro. I want to go back to this place as soon as possible!
A day later we were in San Juan, Puerto Rico. We explored the long cobbled streets and colorful buildings. We headed to the San Felipe del Morro Fortress, which was built in the 16th century to protect the people of San Juan. It is rich with history and the place is incredible. We took an hour or so to read about it, explore the streets and tunnels of the fortress. We meandered our back around town and found a place to grab a quick bite to eat before getting back on the ship.
Haiti was very beautiful, but weren't really allowed to go explore the actual country. We were only allowed on the strip of land that Royal Caribbean owned. It had a place for drinks, we had our own barbecue, dancing and singing, plus places where you could lounge about in the lazy sun. This was our last stop and we spent probably the least amount of time here, at this point in the trip, we were ready to be home again.
Thanks for Reading!
Love, Nick
