Books I've Read | You Are A Badass By Jen Sincero
I cannot say enough good things about this book. This is like having a therapist, supportive sister or best friend in paper form readily available to you at anytime. Every single chapter holds an element of life that requires you and reminds you how to be at your best and badass self. It's a book that needs to be read over and over every year as a way to show up for yourself.
What made you want to read this book?
One of my favorite influencers Kalyn Nicholson recommended this book and based on the title alone it felt like something I wanted (and needed) to read. The dialogue throughout the whole book feels like a conversation with one of your comedic friends but who also knows how to get down to business and give you the nitty gritty truth. It's an honest book that guides you to take a look at your life and how amazing you are and competent you are of doing whatever you want to do to change it.
What is your favorite chapter?
Chapter 20: Fear is for suckers was probably one of my many favorite. Fear of anything and everything has been a big obstacle in my life. Realizing that things aren't as scary or daunting as they may seem and understanding that I am fully capable of accomplishing anything I want to are a few of the biggest takeaways I got from this book. The best thing about this book is that every chapter is a really important lesson and can stand on its own. If you're having doubts about your ability to make money, there's a chapter for that. If you feel stuck in a rut thinking you'll be miserable the rest of your life, there's a chapter for that. If you don't feel like you're confident enough, pretty enough, strong enough, there's a chapter for that. This book can be referenced daily.
Did you feel inspired after reading the book?
Absolutely. Any break I took after a few chapters a day left me feeling motivated and excited to work on my projects and goals. It's a great booster in energy and can offer you a lot. I would recommend it to everyone that I know. I already have a friend that wants to borrow it now that I'm finished with it. There is a reason that this book is a New York Times bestseller!
What are some of your favorite books?
Thanks for reading!
Love, Nick
