My Revised 2020 Goals

I think it goes without saying that this year didn't go at all as we had hoped. Besides bagging everything that I was wanting to accomplish, I've decided to take things in a different direction.

12 books >>>
A book every month, easy peasy. I used to love reading as a kid and I usually come up with excuses of being too tired to read. So, I decided to make it more of a priority for myself. Plus, more knowledge is more power.

Write letters to my family members monthly >>>
Connection. Human connection and relationships. I think that's what the world is trying to tell remind us of what's important. Plus, grandparents love getting letters in the mail! There's something very meaningful about handwritten letters, drawings or even throwing in a few printed photos could really go a long way.

Write daily >>>
The only way I'll improve my writing is to write something, anything every single day. My goal is around a page. So it could be a poem, journal entry, letter, anything!

Clean out my basement >>>
I've been putting it off for so long, it looks like all of the holidays puked up decorations down there. Plus, now that the backyard is coming together, the next project will be tackling our unfinished basement. It's become storage for just about everything. It's time to get organizing!

Get back into my hobbies >>>
I miss working with my hands and letting my creativity flow! Once I'm done organizing the basement, I should turn one of the rooms into a creative room for myself. I could draw, paint, sew, craft and make cool stuff. I want a space all my own that I can be 100% myself.

Go somewhere I've never been before >>>
I'm hopeful that I'll be able to travel somewhere I've never been before this year. I'm ready for new experiences, delicious food, meeting weird people and seeing weird things. Just give me a date and a full tank of gas and I'll make sure my Spotify playlists are downloaded for the trip.

100 hikes >>>
I'm determined to get this one done! 100 hikes in 1 year. It'll help me get outside and enjoy fresh air and sunshine and be a great chance to catch up with friends and enjoy some peace and quiet by self. Nature is a very healing place to either relax or reflect, you can choose to do either. Plus, I'm a weekend warrior. I plan on crashing at some friend's houses so I can hit multiple hikes in a few days!

Find what makes me happy >>>
Navigating through the restrictions and changes we've all been experiencing has really opened my eyes to what's truly important. I realized that I wasn't doing things that gave me a sense of fulfillment and purpose. The last half of this year is going to be a complete leap of faith as I finish up my last few weeks at my job. I don't know what will happen, because I technically don't have a plan.
