My Poetry | The Office
The clock ticks
My pen clicks
The screen lights up
and I wait for the ring
Every day, day after day
I begin my work at the sound of a bell
I jot down notes and organize the book
Over and over, tired and overlooked
It pays the bills, the necessary bills
There's only one way it all can be done
I dream of the adventure, the moments and thrills
The fresh air of summer and the bright sun
As long as I keep dreaming, I have no worry
Its a part of life that I can't avoid
I might as well embrace it for it all will hurry
It's far better than being unemployed
The clock ticks
My pen clicks
The screen lights up
and I wait for the ring
